What This Website IsThis website is basically a showcase for maps that I have collected over the years. I am interested in the historical / nostalgic side of map collecting and don't profess to be an expert in any way. I can't answer questions about where the best dirt bike tracks are located, when a certain restaurant on Highway 31 was constructed or who the President of Supertest Oil was in the 1950's. I am sorry if I disappoint those of you that expect I should go and pay to have high resolution scans done of both sides of the entire map for your viewing pleasure. I have done what I can to make the site as informative and as easy to use as possible. I am not a professional web designer - so what you see is what you get. Perhaps I can help if you need specific information from a map that I have. I have provided information to authors in the past to help with the accuracy of their books. I have assisted museums with historical inquiries and even the Ministry of Transportation when a team put together a commemorative poster in 2007.
Asking For Your Help
You will see references throughout the website regarding the acquisition of scans. It is very expensive to acquire many of the maps I would like to include in the website. If you are looking at my site and see that I don't have a particular map and would like to help me out - please feel free. A scan or photograph of a map that I don't have would be appreciated! I will include your name and give you full credit for providing a map to the website. If you actually would like to donate a map and forward it to me, please send me an email and we will make arrangements. I am not current with the values of many maps, however, I have become current with the costs associated with maintaining a website!
